Glutathione by Now Foods is a reduced form of the amino acid L-glutathione, which is a natural detoxifier for the liver. It consists of three amino acids (glycine, cysteine and glutamine) and owes its hepatic function to the capacity to react with organic peroxides and helping to reduce and destroy them.
Glutathione is also indispensable to protect the membranes of the erythrocytes against oxidation and to eliminate xenobiotics. The environment in which we live means that we are exposed daily to substances that are toxic to our organisms (drugs, alcohol, tobacco, medication, pesticides, contaminant substances, pollution, etc...) and which our livers filter, but at the same time they damage it.
To this effect, hepatic protection is not only beneficial for the liver, but also for general health and the vitality of the organism. Glutathione must be in its reduced form (this is how it is found in this product) so that it can produce antioxidant effects on the free radicals.
Glutathione is particularly indicated for:
- Maintaining hepatic health.
- Helping people who take medication and also smokers.
- Detoxify the organism of drugs and alcohol.
