Green tea is one of the most consumed infusions all over the world, being a symbol in the eastern countries. The main interest is found in the catechins contained in this plant, especially epigallocatechin EGCG, to which anti-obesogenic properties are associated as it enhances the use of fatty acids as an energy source, an increase in insulin sensitivity besides reducing blood sugar levels (diabetics take it) and even an increase in cognitive capacity.
